Monoceros

Welcome to Monoceros 3

You’re all set. Follow the steps below to install and start using Monoceros in Grasshopper.

Step 1 - Install

Open Rhino, go to Tools → Package Manager, search “Monoceros”, and install. Restart Rhino when prompted.

You can also download Monoceros from Food4Rhino.

Already installed? Skip to Step 2.

Step 2 - Register

Launch Grasshopper and accept the License Agreement on first use. To activate a paid plan, right-click any Monoceros component, choose Log in to Monoceros…, enter the email you used on Gumroad, and click Verify. The plugin may also show the registration dialog by itself.

Once the plugin validates your Gumroad email, a paid plan gives you unlimited WFC Solver and Growth Solver runs.

Installation

Install via the Rhino Package Manager and restart Rhino after installation.

Alternatively manually place all plugin files in your Grasshopper Libraries folder. Restart Rhino after installation.

If the native Solver library is blocked after installation:

Windows: Monoceros shows a dialog with an Unblock Files button that unblocks the library .dll and Monoceros3.gha. You can also right-click both files, choose Properties, tick Unblock, and click OK. Restart Rhino afterwards.

macOS: If the native Solver library (.dylib) is blocked, Monoceros shows a dialog with fixes. Allow the library in System Settings → Privacy & Security, or reveal it in Finder, right-click it, choose Open, and confirm. Restart Rhino afterwards.

This only needs to be done once after installation / update.

Free vs. paid

Monoceros 3 Free includes full functionality with a run-rate cap shared by the WFC Solver and Growth Solver components: a limited number of runs are available per fixed time window. Edu, Annual, Lifetime, and Enterprise plans remove the cap. All plans use the same download and installation process.
