Deskode

Modular wine shelf

by Anton Klyshnia, IAAC, 2023

Deskode is a modular wine shelf made from interlocking wood modules that can be stacked and connected without fasteners. The aggregation of modules is driven by Monoceros and its Wave Function Collapse solver, so every configuration is unique while remaining structurally sound.

The project includes a web application built with Vue.js, Rhino Compute and Three.js that lets users define the shelf dimensions and browse variations in real time. Each generated design shows the number of bottles it can hold and its price based on the number of parts.

Developed at IAAC Barcelona during the MaCAD programme (Data Management course, David Andrés León and Justyna Szychowska). Read more on the IAAC Blog.
